It is free to sign up to KeKu. Once you have created your account you can add credit, or purchase an unlimited calling plan to make calls to your international contacts.
Unfortunately no, KeKu allows only one account per person. However, you can register up to 20 phones to your account. So you can call from your mobile, landline, office and even register the phone numbers of your family members – all under the one account.
Please note, we advise that you do not register phones that you do not control usage of, such as public phones or a shared office phone. To make calls from these phones simply dial one of the Local Numbers you created through KeKu and you'll be prompted to enter your PIN, once identified you'll be connected.
When you sign up through our website, we automatically register the phone number you entered during sign up. If you would like to make calls from other phones as well, then you can do this by logging into www.keku.com and entering the Registered Phones section.
We allow you to register up to 20 phone numbers to your account. This means you can register your home phone, mobile and office number. For your protection, we do not allow you to register phones that do not belong to you and we advise you not to register phones which you do not control.
A KeKu Local Number is a free, local phone number that KeKu assigns to one of your contacts' international numbers. Dial a Local Number and we connect you to your international friend at KeKu rates, while your phone company treats this as a local call. Create Local Numbers at any time by logging into www.keku.com and entering the Local Numbers section. Simply enter the international number you would like to call and save this under your friend’s name. Here you will find a list of all the Local Numbers you have ever created.
You can call any country. Just create a unique Local Number for the number you want to reach. A KeKu Local Number is a number that is local to you but when dialed is connected to the international number of your choice.
Make sure you are calling from a phone that is registered to your account. Then, just dial the KeKu Local Number assigned to the contact you wish to call. You must have credit in your account for your call to be connected. The person you are calling will see your registered phone number in their caller ID.
Yes. However, so that we can identify you, we will ask you to provide a 14 digit PIN code. You can find this number by logging into www.keku.com and looking inside the Registered Phones section.
If you would like to call a number, at KeKu rates, that you do not have a Local Number created for, you can use an Access Number. Find an Access Number local to you (we have more than 200 Access Numbers around the world). If you dial this number from a registered phone you will simply be asked to enter the international number you would like to call, and you will be connected at KeKu rates. If you dial an Access Number from a phone that is not registered to your account, you will also need to enter your 14 digit PIN code.
If your phone number is not recognized by caller ID of the receiving phone it means that your number is blocked. If the caller ID on your phone is blocked, you need to enter *82 before dialing a KeKu Local Number in order for our system to recognize the number you are calling from. That will unblock the caller ID for this call only. If you are saving a 'Local Number’ into your phone's memory you have to save it with *82 in front of it (*82 646 xxx yyyy). Caller ID of your phone will still be blocked if you are placing any other calls.
Some internet phone service providers like Skype for example, do not provide its users with caller ID for outbound calls. In this case you would need to use your account's PIN number that we give to you as soon as you activate your account

No, there is no difference. You will get the same low rates whether you use your home or mobile phone.
If you call a mobile phone in most countries, the rates will be a little higher. Rates are always clearly published on our web site, so check there to be sure.
As a KeKu customer you get the same low rates no matter what time of day you call.
Rates do change occasionally, but changes aren't based on the time of day you call. Sometimes our carriers lower their rates, which we pass on in savings to you. View our current rates.
KeKu Local Number calls are charged by your phone carrier as a local call. As such, if you have an unlimited calling minutes, you should not be charged by your phone carrier.
If you use the KeKu app, you can choose to make a call using the Internet instead of a Local Number. This means that you will be charged for the data but not for a local call. If you have an unlimited data plan, your phone carrier will not charge you. If you call using the Internet and do not have an unlimited data plan, your phone carrier will charge you as they normally do for data usage. Internet calls using KeKu typically consume 360KB/minute of data.
KeKu does not charge monthly or annual fees - you only pay for the number of minutes you actually use. Or, if purchasing an unlimited plan, you will only pay for the months you choose to use this plan.
On the top left hand side of My Account, you will see your balance summary. This shows you the credit you have available, number of days left on any unlimited plans as well as any minutes remaining from an iPhone purchase.
You can choose to add credit or purchase an unlimited plan (currently available for calls to India, Pakistan, China or the US). Credit can be used to call anywhere and has no expiration. Unlimited plans are available to calls for a specific destination only and have an expiration date.
KeKu does not send out paper bills. We do send you a monthly account statement to the email address you have listed in your account. You can also view your call and charge history at any time by logging into www.keku.com and entering Billing Information.
We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. If you have an iPhone, you can also make purchases through iTunes.
Inside Billing Information, you can view both your call history as well as your charges history.
Simply edit your credit card details the next time you make a transaction through our website. Once this transaction has been processed this new credit card will be the one on file for Auto Recharge and Phone Recharge.
Auto Recharge means that we will automatically recharge your account with a selected amount of credit, each time your account falls below $1. This means that your calls will never be disconnected due to running out of credit, and will save you time as you won’t need to manually add credit to your account. When you purchase credit on our website you can turn Auto Recharge ON. You can also do this later through Billing Information and Settings. It’s easy to change the amount selected for Auto Recharge or disable this at any time too, through these sections.
Yes. All credit card transactions are protected with encryption. We use a Geotrust SSL certificate to ensure security. All customer information is also kept in an encrypted database.
Enter the Local Numbers section then click the contact you wish to change and then the edit button. You can also click ‘View All’ on the top right hand corner of the table, to see all your Local Numbers on the one page. You can sort by clicking on any of the table headings and print your list by clicking the printer icon. To add a Local Number, simply enter the details in the box titled Create Local Number.
You can register up to 20 phones to your account. These are phones that you make calls FROM. To add, delete or edit any of these just go to the Registered Phones section.

You can delete one of your Registered Phones and register it to a new account. This new account will not be eligible for any referral bonus.
Only the phones registered to your account, such as your home phone or mobile phone can connect to your account or KeKu Local Numbers without entering your PIN code. This means other people cannot use your account to make international calls unless you let them. If someone has the same phone numbers registered to their account, you and that person will need to enter your 14 digit PIN codes each time you make a call, so our system knows whose account to charge.
We hope that you will enjoy the KeKu service; however, if you decide that KeKu is not for you then you can stop using the service at any time. There are no contracts and no cancellation penalties so there is no actual need to close the account. If you still would like to completely close your account please send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and one of our representatives will close it for you
Please be advised that the registered phone numbers on your account will still be linked to your account even after it is disabled, which means that anyone who adds your numbers to their account will not be able to use a referral code.
Every KeKu customer has their own referral code. When someone signs up to KeKu through our website www.keku.com and enters your referral code, you’ll both automatically get bonus credit when they first add credit to their account. If they add $5 credit, you’ll both receive $5 bonus. If they add $10 credit, you’ll both get $10 bonus. Note: your friend needs to sign up and add credit through our website, if credit is added through the app they are not eligible for this bonus.
You can find the referral code when you log into your account, in the Invite Friends section.
Simply tell your friends to sign up with you referral code. An easy way to do this is by logging into KeKu and then visiting the Invite Friends section. Here you can send your referral code to friends using your email contacts, by posting to your Facebook page or by sharing a tweet on Twitter.
There is no limit to the number of people you can invite to KeKu. You’ll get free bonus credit for each person who signs up using your referral code and then adds credit to their account for the first time.
Your bonus credit will never expire.
They can sign up whenever they would like. We’ll still double the credit they add for the first time and you’ll also get your bonus credit. Just remind them to use your referral code when they sign up.
You will get the bonus credit. Just be sure to remind your friends to enter your referral code.
Unfortunately, the answer is no. Referral bonus credit is processed automatically upon signup. It can't be given later.

You will need to have a phone number associated with any mobile device on which you install the KeKu app, and you must be able to receive a call with the verification PIN to verify the number.
The KeKu app is free and can be downloaded from the Apple app store, Google Play (formerly known as the Android Market) or Amazon Marketplace.
Before you download the app, we recommend you set up your account on www.keku.com first. It’s the best place to add credit, earn referral bonuses, and get access to special promotions. You can then log into the app with your KeKu ID and password.
If you already have a KeKu account, just download the app and select log in. Use your KeKu login and password.
Existing customers (if you already have a KeKu account):
When you make your first call we’ll ask you to enter your phone number, if this is the same number you have registered to your KeKu account, we’ll recognize this and give you the option to Login. Simply enter your login email address and password and your accounts will be linked. Another way to do this is to Logout (through Settings in My Account), close the app and then when you open it again choose the Login option.
If you are a new customer, then we need to verify your phone number. You will be asked to enter your phone number the first time you try to make a call. We will then call you with your KeKu PIN, simply enter this PIN and set up is complete. You can now use your phone number and 4 digit PIN to login to www.keku.com or the KeKu app.
Near the log in button on www.keku.com and the app, you’ll find a link for Forgot Password. Click this, enter your phone number (or email address if that is what you use to login), and we’ll send it to you.
We do this to show you which friends use KeKu, so that we can offer you free app-to-app calls. If you select No, we will not upload your contacts to our server. Contacts will be available to you locally on the app, so that you can easily dial from your contacts, but you will not be able to make free calls.

The easiest way to purchase credit is by logging into www.keku.com. Alternatively, from your app, select My Account, then Add Credit. If you are using an Android, you can purchase with your Visa or MasterCard. If you are using an iPhone, you can purchase through iTunes.
At the bottom of the app, you’ll see a little box with your current credit balance. If you touch this, it will slide open to reveal more details.
Calls to other KeKu app users are Free when you call using the "Free KeKu Call" option on their contact detail page. For international calls, there are two options:
Yes. The free icon next to your KeKu contact means that your contact is also using the KeKu application. When you call a friend and you are both using KeKu, click the Free Call button and your call will be free.
If you purchased minutes on the KeKu app they will not appear in your KeKu balance. You will be able to hear how many minutes you have remaining before your call is connected.
Minute plans are only available on calls to the USA. Minute plans are currently only available on the iPhone app and can be purchased in amounts of $1.99, $9.99, or $18.99.
Invite your friends from within the app by SMS or email. The first time you use the app, you'll have the opportunity to invite all of your contacts. You can also invite your friends individually from their contact detail pages (the page from which you can call them or update their phone number).
If you login to www.keku.com we have an invite friend tool that allows you to invite friends through your email address book, by posting to Facebook or sending a Tweet.
Calls to other KeKu users are free because they are not made like phone calls. They do not require that you have the other user's phone number as long as you and the other KeKu app user both have a piece of information from your KeKu account (either a phone number or email address) we can make a connection between the two of you.
The iPhone application requires iOS 4 or greater. The Android application requires Android version 2.1 or greater
If you haven't created an account, then you should still be logged in; however, if you are prompted for a username and password, try using your phone number and PIN code; they will work as temporary account credentials until you create an account.

You will be asked to enter a 14 digit PIN code when you make a call from a phone that is not registered or when you call from a Registered Phone where the Caller ID is blocked.
To register a phone number, simply login to www.keku.com, enter the Registered Phones section and add the new number.
To unblock Caller ID refer to your phone settings.
If you are still being asked for the PIN and calling from a registered phone you may want to check that the Registered Phone details stored in your account are correct.
Too find your PIN simply login to www.keku.com, and enter the Registered Phones section. Your 14 digit PIN will appear on the right hand side of any of your registered phone numbers. You will not see this PIN until you have placed your first call.
Your KeKu balance will not increase when you purchase an unlimited calling plan, however, you will be able to see details of your unlimited plan, including how many days you have remaining in the Balance Summary box on the top left hand side of My Account. You will be able to place a call as soon as you purchase the unlimited plan, calls to your unlimited destination will not change your KeKu credit balance.
You are only able to call from 2 Registered Phones on your unlimited plan. You selected these numbers at the time of purchase. You can view these numbers by looking at Billing Information in My Account. Please contact email@example.com to make any changes.
No, you are not able to use KeKu credit to purchase an unlimited plan. These plans must be purchased separately.
What you see on your statement is called an authorization charge.
Your declined charge was sent back to your bank at the end of the day it was declined. It is up to your bank to then return the money to you; this can take 3-5 business days.
You will only be asked for your PIN code if we do not recognize your caller ID (the number you are calling from). Check that your phone is registered with KeKu and that your caller ID is on. If you are still getting asked for a PIN then it means we are not getting this information from your provider.
If this is the case, you can use KeKu with your 14-digit PIN number, get your phone provider to PIN pass your caller ID through correctly, or try changing to a KeKu Local Number or Access Number that is in a different state than the number you are calling from (as long as your phone plan includes inter-state numbers).
Yes, you can. Please be aware that if your friend's number is already registered on another account you will not be able to use a referral code in order to add the number to your account. If the number is not on another account, and your friend would like to open their own account in the future then they will not be able to add a referral code.
